FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is Meet Seoul?
Meet Seoul (Japanese: ミートソウル, Korean: 미트서울) is an introduction-based matchmaking service connecting Korean men and Japanese women. It is operated by Connect More, Inc. (주식회사 커넥트모어) in Seoul, South Korea.
Which site should I use?
Japanese women sign up at jp.meet-seoul.com, which is in Japanese. Korean men sign up at kr.meet-seoul.com, which is in Korean. meet-seoul.com is the official overview of both.
Who can join?
Japanese women aged 20 to 33 who are single (Japanese nationals or Zainichi Koreans living in Japan or Korea), and Korean men aged 23 to 38 who are legally single, have never been divorced and are currently employed.
How much does it cost?
Korean men pay no sign-up or annual fee; they buy items (profile introduction tickets, introduction request tickets and match success tickets) as they use them. If a match does not happen within 48 hours of an introduction, the match success ticket is returned to the account (not a cash refund).
How are members verified?
Every member is screened before joining. Women verify their identity with an official ID such as a driver's license or passport. Men complete PASS mobile identity verification (men living in Japan may use an ID instead) and prove their employment with one of a certificate of employment, an employee ID, a business card or a business registration certificate.
How do introductions work?
A matchmaker recommends profiles that fit each member’s preferences; profiles are not publicly listed. A woman is introduced only to men who have seen her profile and asked to meet her: when a man requests an introduction, she receives it on LINE around noon the next day with a recommendation written in Japanese. Their LINE friend links are shared only when both accept.
Do I need an app?
No. Women sign up on the web and receive screening results (usually within three business days) and introductions through the Meet Seoul LINE official account.
Do I need to speak Korean or Japanese?
Women can ask to be introduced to men who speak Japanese, and men’s self-introductions come with a Japanese translation.
